So the date has been set, the research done and an idyllic destination wedding has been decided.......now what? Google 'Weddings Abroad' and you have the world at your fingertips, hotels advertising dream wedding packages, wedding planners in destinations you have never even heard of, Tour Operators UK based and overseas, travel agents, wedding destination specialists....the list goes on and it is a minefield! The online bank, First Direct, has surveyed almost 2000 people about their preference for wedding gifts. Most couples would rather ask for money or vouchers than specific gifts. A tiny 3% would do a William-and-Kate and ask for charity donations. 22% would ask for presents from a list but almost as many would leave the choice to their guests. While the happy couple prefer cash, most guests weren’t as keen. 39% found it too impersonal. 34% were sensitive about letting the couple know how much they had spent. |

At last.......we have launched our 'sister' company The Wedding Umbrella. After much deliberation over an appropriate name the family inspired me with this......it's simple, all your wedding services under one umbrella!!
After planning my own spectacular wedding on New Years Eve I realised just how many wonderful people I know who are linked to the wedding business and how easy it was to go to them knowing their products were not only value for money but real quality. I spent a long time mulling over how this whole wedding thing could be simplified after spending way too many hours on Ebay sourcing bits I needed, stressing over the extortionate prices of venue decorating and having to have a diary purely to remember who I had to call and see in the lead up to my wedding. |

The 'Honeymoon' is defined in our modern day as"a vacation spent together by a newly married couple"but it seems we could, as with many things be missing the real point! Other definitions include; When a man is newly wed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family, to bring joy to the wife he has married.Does this mean the groom takes a year out after the wedding or puts a year in of solely pleasing his wife? |

Definition : Honeymoon (hun'e moon') The holiday or vacation spent together by a newly married couple.
Imperative: As this is one of the most important holidays in a lifetime, that it is booked through a specialist who has the knowledge, experience and attention to detail to ensure it is faultlessly planned.
The Honeymoon business is vast, the choices huge......where do you start? There is so much to consider, firstly what kind of holiday you both want. How ??! I recently looked online at some questionnaires that have been formulated to determine the type of traveller you are, the results are said to give you the answer as to the ideal travel destination for a romantic Honeymoon. |

After wading through a whole heap of Wedding Forums on this topic I am getting a clearer picture as to how you finally make that choice! It's the 'having the family' there that is the main part of the decision and after watching "Don't Tell the Bride...Vegas" it is something that both the bride and groom have to think very carefully about. There are certain situations where it is easier to not have all the family together, escaping across the other side of the world in this instance is perfect! |

This first blog entry has been a long time coming but at long last I have been inspired by an article I read yesterday to begin!
It was the above article that has got me going, yes some of it maybe true but all of it? If you haven't had a look then in brief I will give you the gist.... it looks at Wedding Gift vouchers both the shop kind and Honeymoon contributions such as our Honeymoon Miles scheme. |
